Start by wandering through the cobbled streets to Gravensteen, a 12th-century castle that kids will love for its impressive towers and knights’ armour. Don’t miss the boat tours along the river – it’s an exciting way to see the city from a different perspective.

Ghent is also home to some of the most kid-friendly museums in Belgium, such as the STAM city museum, where families can learn about the history interactively.

Valencia, Spain

Kids will be enchanted by the fairytale-like Schlossberg, a hilltop fortress offering panoramic views of the city and a funicular railway that brings you to the top. Graz is filled with green spaces, so it’s a great choice if your little ones love to run around and explore.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

Amsterdam might be renowned for its museums, but there’s much more to the Dutch capital than meets the eye. The city offers a variety of experiences, with something for every age group.

If your children enjoy cycling, rent bikes and join the locals on their daily commute through the picturesque streets. The Vondelpark is a great place to stop for a family picnic or enjoy outdoor activities.

You can also visit the NEMO Science Museum, where kids can engage with hands-on science exhibits. Amsterdam’s weather can be unpredictable, so pack layers and a raincoat just in case, particularly in the spring and autumn months.
