London is a dream destination for people – old and young – around the world. And, if you are planning to visit the city soon and experience everything the city has to offer, there are a few things that you need to know beforehand.
Fortunately, we’re here to help! Listed below are some of the things you may need to do in London and some things that you may be better offer avoiding. The insights are designed to ensure that you create memorable experiences in this vast city that last a lifetime.
The Weather
London has unpredictable weather, that’s no secret. One minute it’s raining and the next it’s sunny!
But, you can avoid being caught up in the midst of the turmoil by prepping well for these weather changes. We recommend that – regardless of the time you visit – you pack some warm clothes for your trip as well as an umbrella. That way, you’re prepared for whatever the British capital throws your way. Of course, if you do get cold, it’s nothing the Montcalm London afternoon tea can’t fix.
As any Brit knows…a ‘cuppa fixes everything!
Cut Down On Your Budget
London is an expensive city and features some of the most luxurious 5-star London hotels, museums, galleries, markets and so much more. While some attractions like the London Eye cost a pretty penny to enjoy, plenty of the attractions in the city (including most museums!) are free of charge.
Check Out the Magnificent Galleries
Fans of art and exhibitions can visit some of the renowned galleries in London and, to maximize your experience, we recommend you visit these places at night. Expect fewer crowds and more space to explore.

Move Around Easily
London is a busy city with many commuters travelling by bus, car, bike, scooter and on foot. But, be aware that travelling by bus or taxi may actually take you longer than it would to cycle or even walk from one point to another. Better still, it’s cheap! Hiring a bike could cost you less than £2 for 24 hours.

Visit London’s Theaters
Spice up your evenings after a long day of sightseeing by visiting one of the city’s many theatres. If you’re on a budget, you can get tickets at discounted prices just before the shows. Check online for more details about specific theatres and to find out what’s on.

Opt for Contactless Cards
Saving every penny you have is key when travelling to an expensive city. To avoid any financial troubles, we recommend using a contactless card. Not only is it safe, but every transaction costs very little. When you compare this to often-extortionate ATM fees, this is definitely the way to go.
Get Used to the Queues
You will notice that people living in London queue for almost everything. If you are not a fan of queues, well… you will have to get used to them. Expect a queue for coffee, at restaurants and even for public toilets. It’s the British way!
Take A Stroll in The Green Parks
London’s gorgeous parks carry with them a deep history of the city and house thousands of plants. These well-maintained lush green parks are the perfect way to wind down after a tiring, stressful or busy day.
Book Your Stay Tickets Before Travelling
Last but not least, you have to find a place to put your head down
Advance tickets come at discounted prices in London and you can check the hotel’s website to know what rates they charge as well as find any special offers that they may have for guests.
