I heard a friend mention mug cakes last week and I had no idea what they were so I was determined to not only find out but to try them.
I found a recipe which sounded very yummy so today Emmy and I have been baking Nutella Mug Cakes.
They were not only amazingly easy to make but were unbelievably quick and yummy!!
4 Tablespoons of self raising flour
4 Tablespoons of sugar
3 Tablespoons cocoa powder
3 Tablespoons Nutella
3 Tablespoons milk
3 Tablespoons olive or vegetable oil
What you do:
Mix all ingredients together in a mug (we used a bowl as Emmy wanted to help and it seemed a less messy option then poured into a large mug) then microwave on full power for 1 1/2 – 3 minutes – ours took 2 minutes.
Allow to cool a little and eat!! How simple is that. You can eat straight from the mug which we did as it saves on the washing up or you could put into a bowl and serve with cream or ice-cream.
This was an extremely moist cake which easily fed Emmy and her Daddy (I had a few mouthfuls too). Next time I will either pour into mini ramekins and microwave or mini cups so the portion isn’t so big and reduce the cooking time.
