I do love personalised items, both giving them and receiving them. It shows that a little more thought has gone into the buying process and is something a little different from the norm. This goes for cards too and Christmas is no different – I have however, long given up trying to get the kids to happily pose for a family Christmas photo so make these up using single photographs I have taken throughout the year.
Making up this years Christmas cards using Rosemood Atelier was such an easy process and their attention to detail after you place your order is like none I have encountered before. Upon uploading your photos you will see a green smiling face if your picture is of high enough quality to use or a red sad face if it isn’t suitable.
Once uploaded you can edit the photos a little, turning them sepia or black and white. You can enlarge the image or make it smaller, and click retouch which allows the team of graphic designers to enhance your images before printing.
There are numerous Christmas card designs to choose from and they can be personalised with not only your own photographs but your own wording too – you can also add your address onto the back of the cards (perfect for those who lose their address books as often as I do – now the recipients can have your address to hand).
I chose 4 different Christmas cards to show you how different they can be and I really do love them all.
This is a flat postcard style card called Starry Ribbon, made from a cartoon style image of our family. The stars on the card are foil stamped and can be three different colours: Gold, Silver or Copper. You can customise the front with your own picture and family name and family name on the back of the card. They start from £1.20 each.
The Watercolour Foliage Christmas card has space for 2 photographs so was perfect for adding my favourite images of the children onto. This is beautifully framed with winter foliage with the wording ‘Happy Holidays’ underneath. With this design, you can also add another photograph onto the inside (page 2) of the card.
These are priced from £1.00 each.
I think these may be my favourite of the lot, reuseable as the front is actually a bookmark you can keep – of course, only the close family member will get these ones as I’m not sure the neighbours would make much use of bookmarks with pictures of us all over it. Emmy and Harry have actually claimed one each so they can use for their school reading books which is very cute.
You can add up to 4 images of your choice to these Elegant Foliage Bookmark Christmas cards. These start from £1.10 each and you customise the bookmark and the back too. They are available in Red and a Dark Grey colour.
The last of the cards I chose to show you is called A very good year Christmas Cards which you customise with 3 photos of your choice. The Merry Christmas writing is foil-stamped and available in 3 colour choices: Gold, Silver or Copper foil.
You can also personalise the inside to include your own message and the back to include your address.
These start at £1.35 each.

My book is all the photo’s I took while on holiday in October, it was the first time the children had been abroad and I wanted to preserve the memories forever, and I could think of no better way of having them actually printed off into a book.
We all take so many photos of our kids but displaying them very rarely happens so they get forgotten about – we have loved flicking through these and will do for many years to come.

Once you have uploaded your photo’s to the website, you can get them to auto-fill your book or you can choose which images you want on each page.
The auto-fill does a really good job of making sure you’ve enough images on each page and spreading them evenly throughout the book. As with the cards, when uploading you get a red or green face to show if the images are of high enough quality.
What I loved about this company was the attention to detail they put into every order.
I had a couple of images which I couldn’t find the original so screenshot them to use and placed the order, the next day I received an email and a phone call to say the designers had had a look and the quality wasn’t great, they had played around but couldn’t get the resolution high enough for the images to not look grainy upon printing. They advised changing those images for new ones or I could ignore their advice and carry on but they waited for my response.
I did swap the images they suggested to change and got them to look at it again – this time the quality of my pictures was good enough to carry on with the order which was processed in a timely fashion and I was keep updated when they were dispatched.
