Playing with my food! plus a Giveaway worth over £100

I know, I know!
You’re not supposed to play with your food, it’s drummed into us from an early age not to however Tesco have challenged a few bloggers to use the new Thomas knives to create some culinary master pieces.
For this challenge I’ve been sent a Thomas kitchenware knife block with 5 knives.  These are the latest sticker collection offer from Tesco.  Spend over £20 in Tesco to collect a sticker, save those stickers up and you can buy these knives at a heavily discounted price
They are well worth the money…..but be warned they are very sharp! (As you would expect).
Now down to the task at hand. Having never been artistic with food before I set about watching a few YouTube tutorials…who knew there were SO many different ways to carve fruits and vegetables.
I stuck with fruits and vegetables I normally buy and set to work.
This is my first ever attempt using kiwis.   Not too bad for a first attempt I don’t think.
A few videos later and much patience, believe me it’s not easy, or at least it wasn’t for me and this is as good as I’ve managed without wasting all my fruit or chopping off my fingertip (it was close a few times).

What do you think?

Have you ever tried?

I gave it a few days before trying again and decided to try something with the apples I had in the fruit bowl.

Not perfect but it’s really not easy

Here are my final master pieces – I’m calling them master pieces, they are far from perfect however I’m pleased with my efforts.  They took a good while to create and it’s something I am going to keep trying so you may see some more designs soon.

Honest opinions, can you tell what they are?

Disclaimer: I was sent these knives and am competing against other bloggers to with a voucher for £150 red letter days gift card.

I can’t wait to see what the other bloggers have created and I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did, and of course still have all fingers intact.

  1. I've just had my knife rack installed so I need a shiny new knife set to put on display. The Santuko knife is very impressive!

  2. I'd want a Santuko knife, was the only thing I was upset about when splitting up with my ex – he took my fave knife!!

  3. It would have to be the utility knife – all our knives are blunt! Great competition, so fingers crossed x

  4. The utility knife (closely followed by the knife block as mine is very old).

(posting again as my comment does not seem to have posted – please delete if it's a duplicate in which case sorry!)

  5. probably the kitchen scissors. I've never paid much attention to the stickers before but having just taken a peek – it is really great value item you can use the stickers towards so I think i'll be keeping the stickers instead of binning them from now on. Great carvings by the way – i think you did a great job!

  6. It would be the three piece chopping board set. As I only have one chopping board at the moment, and if I don't use the dishwasher on the day I use the chopping board, the following day I don’t get to use one (I don’t like washing it buy hand because I can’t get it clean)
