The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice Review

You all know just how much we love Disney here, and every year for the last 4 years we have taken the children to see Disney on Ice at Christmas. We love it so much that we also try to squeeze in a second show if we are around when it comes to  London.

A few weekends ago we were again lucky enough to have been given tickets to attend the Wembley tour of The Wonderful World of Disney on Ice and this time as well as taking the children, we also took my Mum along with us. She hasn’t been to see the Disney on Ice shows previously and was as excited as the children were.

Harry started a little unsure, he was sad not to see Goofy at the Christmas showing and this is his favourite characters. We didn’t have to wait long before he was happy and laughing as after the warm-up Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy took to the ice and within 5 minutes Goofy had fallen over – which is always Harry’s favourite part of the show.

Mickey and friends start the show with a treasure chest of clues trying to work out who is on stage and what will happen next, this is a great way of getting the audience involved as the kids were all screaming out who they thought it was within no time.

Every year, new characters are added to make the show just a little different from the last. This year saw Finding Dory on the Ice looking for his parents – the forgetful fish who is unable to remember anything actually remembered his parents and then found her way home.

The 7 dwarves my favourite addition this year, maybe fitting that I managed to have a sneezing fit as soon as they hit the Ice which made the kids giggle even if it was rather annoying.

Frozen, of course, was back again, with a new set to match. This is the only one I am actually beginning to tire of now and it goes on for some time. The children in the audience, however, don’t seem to mind and we all happily singing away still.

The Stampede during the Lion King was very impressively done with amazing costumes and choreography really making you think the animals were charging.

We all had a wonderful time and as always can’t wait to return at Christmas for our annual family visit.

Take a look at the video of the show which is up on Emmy’s new YouTube channel – All About Emmy, where we have condensed the 2-hour show into 15 minutes for you to enjoy.
