Four European Destinations That are Very Kid Friendly

Posted on January 6, 2023June 12, 2026

**Collaborative post**

Travelling with kids is fun, but only if you go to places where it is easy to keep them occupied. Luckily, kids are much better catered for than they used to be. Visits to musty museums and sad worn out amusement rides have been replaced by new, high-quality exhibitions and facilities that kid’s really enjoy experiencing. This is especially the case in Europe. Below, are four great cities for you to visit with your kids.

Vienna – Austria

Top of my list is Vienna in Austria. This sophisticated city is one that a lot of people forget about entirely, which is a real shame. It is one of the most kid-friendly places you can travel to. It is easy to find Austria international travel advice online. But, below I have come up with a few special things you can do is you are visiting there with your children.

You can easily find flats to rent in Vienna because the city utilises landlord-tenant regulations to keep rent low. These flats vary in size, are kid-friendly, and are very accommodating for tourists if you wish to spend a few weeks there.

But, below, I have come up with a few special things you can do is you are visiting there with your children. Attend a children’s opera, cruise down the Danube, enjoy the sea life centre at the Haus des Meeres, go to the butterfly farm and enjoy the water slides at Therme Wien. For older children seeing the show at the Spanish Riding School, spending a day in the world’s oldest amusement park, The Prater, and visiting the Museum of Illusions are also good ways to pass the time.

Paris – France

No kid-friendly European city list would be complete without mentioning Paris. With Disneyland on its doorstep, you just cannot go wrong. The park close to the city is worth checking out as it has many rides to explore. But, there are a lot more kids can enjoy while visiting this city. It is easy to find inspiration online. At the very least take them up the Eiffel Tower, for a boat trip on the Seine and to the Jardin D’acclimation, which caters particularly well to children. Your kids will enjoy the heights, quirky elevator, and the binocular at the top.

If your kids are interested in all things science, the Palais de la Decouverte will be an ideal place to visit. This science and technology museum remains one of the best kid’s activities that’s well located. Its interactive exhibits will get your kids jumping with excitement,

A day at Jardin du Luxembourg will also be a fun place to bring your kids. This park boasts activities and attractions that keep your kids entertained while you sit back and relax. You can find an adventure playground, a sandpit, a puppet theatre, and pony rides.

London – England

We can personally vouch for the fact that London is a great place to travel to when you have kids. The list of things you can do and see, while there, is a long one. The Tower, The Science Museum, a trip down the Thames and the Sealife Aquarium are our favourites.

Then there are the royal parks. The boating lake in Regent’s Park is always a hit. If you have older kids who like the performing arts, watching Shakespeare in Regent Park’s Open Air Theatre will also work. Then there is the zoo, Madame Tussaud’s and the London Eye. The list goes on and on, as I said it really is a very good place to spend a few days with the kids.

Then there is the zoo, Madame Tussaud’s where your kids can look at different celebrity wax figure and the London Eye.

Before leaving London, visit the Lego store, the biggest in the world. Your kids will be entertained by the different exhibits and large Lego displays scattered around the store. Take a tour of the sea life center London Aquarium where your kids will explore this home to over fifty thousand creatures. The aquarium puts on exhibits and attractions that’ll teach your kid about biodiversity.

The list goes on and on, but as I said it really is a very good place to spend a few days with the kids.

Copenhagen – Denmark

The relatively small city Copenhagen also has some nice attractions for kids to enjoy. Top of the list is the Tivoli Gardens. This quaint little amusement park there is a lot better than you think it will be.

Legoland is not far away, so a day trip there is definitely a possibility. The DGI-byen swim centre is also very good. It offers five different sized pools and it never seems to get crazy busy.

As you can see, when it comes to city break destinations that are also kid friendly you are actually spoilt for choice.
