Hatchimals are back again and this time they are even BIGGER. Introducing the brand new Hatchimals WOW. You’ve seen the previous Hatchimals by now I’m sure, the kids loved hatching them but once they were hatched that part of the fun was over. Hatchimals Wow are the first-ever rehatchable Hatchimals! Read on for our Hatchimals WOW review:

They come in a HUGE pink egg, but inside your new friend will grow up to 2.5 times bigger.

Hatchimals WOW review

To hatch the egg you unwrap the wrapping, leaving on the middle logoed band, then you tilt, rock, cuddle and tap the egg – unlike the previous Hatchimals there is no rubbing of the egg required this time around. Just play with the egg – there are various things you can do with the egg depending on the eye colour showing through the shell (all detailed in the instructions).

When you’ve played with the egg enough you will see rainbow eyes through the shell and music will begin to play, now you remove the wrapper around the middle and your Hatchimlas WOW will hatch from the egg rising upwards as it’s neck grows.

Inside the egg is a Llalacorn, Part unicorn, part llama. There is a pink and a purple version but you’ll not know who you have until it hatches.

Hatchimals WOW is the first Hatchimal to express its emotions through movement – with a neck that can magically grow up to 32-inches tall or shrink down on its own. Depending on the eye colour you play games with your new pet – you can hypnotise it, pump it’s neck up like a balloon following the instructions (see our video where Emmy plays all the games with her new pet), it gets frightened by loud noises, get the hiccups and even sneezes – and after playing for a while will declare it’s love for you too.

They come with a confetti fruit for feeding, plus you can teach them to talk, sing, dance, and so much more! There are over 250 reactions! WOW!

And what’s more….you can pop it back into the egg and rehatch it over and over again.

Emmy’s thoughts

This is my favourite Hatchimals. I love unicorns so of course, that’s a bonus for me but knowing I can rehatch it, again and again, makes it even more fun.

I like the games you can play with it too, and hearing it say I love you is the cutest.

Parental thoughts

We’ve tried out all the Hatchimals now and while Emmy didn’t really play with the first after hatching, she did become very attached to the Hatchimals Hatchibabies and plays with hers a lot still. That one had a lot more games and features than the first and this Hatchimals WOW has even more still so I do think Emmy will play with it for months to come.

The fact it is rehatchable is a huge plus point, as that is the main attraction with these toys for Emmy. She has already rehatched this 4 times already and of course, the shell is a great net for her new pet and somewhere to store the fruit for feeding it so it doesn’t get lost.

The games are really fun and the entertainment value has certainly doubled with this new version.

These do have a huge price tag on them though, more than the original Hatchimals. A Hatchimals WOW will set you back £79.99 so it would definitely be the main gift for Christmas or Birthdays.

I’ll update this post in a month or so to let you know if it still holds the fun for Emmy and if she is still playing with it.

Great review. I’m a mum of a teenager so I’m completely out of touch with gifts for younger kids. Just started collating my Christmas list and I have friends with younger girls and I had no idea what to get. This looks like fun!
